Gide Loyrette Nouel

We designed the new London law offices of French-based firm Gide Loyrette Nouel. The main design challenge was to ameliorate the rather low ceiling heights in the refurbished Stock Exchange Building in the City of London. Also, the client was keen to bring ‘drama’ to the space, one that is not normally associated with staid law offices. We chose a stark palette of black, white and red to emphasize the important spaces and to create a ‘two-tier’ ceiling plane to counterbalance the low ceiling height.

The design was begun at HLW, but Originate subsequently consulted with GLN regarding changes to their reception and office area.
